Hi there,
we use as a groups of six people a QFieldCloud project for some months and it went well so far. Today (5th of May) none of the layers could be loaded after synchronisation. The local copy is working in QGIS and I already synchronised it again to the cloud but that did not change anything. The error message contains all layers and a path: ./data.gpkg|layername=8573c041… (very long string). However, there is no layer named “data.gpkg” in the project and the layernames are also not existing.
Any ideas? Since we are in the middle of our field work, help is needed urgently!
Best
Peter (answers in German are also welcome)
Hi!
Can you paste your entire job log here?
To me, this currently looks like your data source “data.gpkg” is no longer synchronized with your project files.
I have the same issue. No layers could be loaded today after the update of qfield version. I also got the error message with data.gpkg|layername=…
Everything worked fine last week.
When I tried creating a new project today (by resaving the old one into a new folder and copying layers, removing the old one from the cloud and synking this new one to the cloud again etc), I got the error message “QfieldCloud had troubles packing your project
Some layers have not been packaged correctly on QfieldCloud. These layers might be misconfigured or their data source is not accessible from the QfieldCloud server. Please check the logs of the latest packaging job on the qfield.cloud website.”
and for each layer it says “… is not valid. Error code invalid_dataprovider, error message: File: “…” missing.”
Maybe these are two different problems, but layers that worked fine last week no longer open in qfield.
Hi, same issue here.
Using QGIS 3.44.8 (Qt5) and QField Sync, 4.20.0, I just updated a project to the cloud and now QField can not open the layers set to offline editing.
Also I notice very slow connections or time-outs to QFieldCloud in the QFieldSync at the first connection. The syncing process itself doesn’t seem to be slower.
The connection between the app and QFC also doesn’t feel slow.
I can open other existing QField projects in my phone, so the issue only occurs after synchronizing.
I just tested a project that has no changes in QFieldCloud and I could open it in QField. However, after I did a manual synchronization (no changes), the offline editable layer is no longer available.
At the moment I am not able to login to QFieldCloud, but I’ll try later.
This is a great moment to learn how to try the APK.
What do I need to do to get this and install this on my phone? Can I use this next to my existing QField app?
Hi Jeroen, Usually what happens is that a beta version of QField is installed alongside of your official QField.
When you download the apk to your phone and click on the link it should automatically be installed.
Best regards
Ah, the trick was to unzip the zip, which my phone didn’t seem to do when ‘opening’ the zip… Clicking the actual apk file indeed installed the version alongside the official version.
@Mathieu_Pellerin And for me the fix is working, the offline editable layers are visible again and I can make changes to them and sync back to QFC and desktop.
@Jeroen-GroeneBij , perfect. The fix has been including in QField 4.1.11, released a few hours ago.
PSA to everybody following this thread: you will need to a/ push changes to insure no local data is lost, then b/ remove the cloud project from the device (via the cloud projects list), then c/ re-download the cloud project. Things will be fine after that.
Apologies for the trouble this regression has caused.
Great, merci! For those collaborateurs that did not synchronise yet (and therefore had no problems) – they can now synchronise without problems? Or do they have to remove the project?
Would it be a good idea to switch off all automatic updating of QField for the field saison (until Juli)? This could prevent us from further trouble of this kind.
For those who had not synchronized over the last 5 days, they don’t need to remove and redownload no.
