The next version of QField is here. While this time of the year is a well-deserved holiday period for many, we’ve dedicated ourselves to improving the stability and refining of your favorite field mapping tool.
This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://qfield.org/blog/2026/09/08/qfield-4.3-danube-summer-of-stability/
How do you update the Windows version? I cant see any version numbers on the app or update links anywhere?
OK found the version number after going into a project. I have app auto updates set in the Microsoft Store but QField doesnt appear in the list? Is the only way to update via another download, install and then unistall past versions?
@tastrax , you can find Windows installer for every release here: Releases · opengisch/QField · GitHub
To find the QField version you’re running, you can tap on the QField logo at the top of the welcome / home screen.
Thanks for that - can you confirm that auto update does NOT work for QField via the Microsoft store and auto updates?
@tastrax , we’ve had issues with the store; we moved from an .exe to .msi installer and seems the store got upset
we’re working through this as we speak.
