I added a virtual layer in QGIS which caused QFieldCloud synchronization on QField to fail with “The project owner’s subscription plan is insufficient” - this error message seems to be due to QFieldCloud not currently synchronizing virtual layers (see link below) so I set the virtual layer to QFieldCloud Packaging Action to “Remove from project” and tried to resynchronize but the problem remains and the error message “The project owner’s subscription plan is insufficient” is still displayed.
I’ve tried closing QGIS and re-opening QGIS to make sure that this setting has been stored correctly and the virtual layer’s QFieldCloud Packaging Action is set to “Remove from project” so it looks like this setting is being stored correctly.
I’ve also tried closing and re-opening QField then trying to synchronize again but this doesn’t seem to help.
The virtual layer only contains a Union All query which unions the attributes tables in two .gpkg layers for use in generating histograms.
If I check under jobs on the project’s web page they’re all in status finished and if I check under Changes the last changes that I made in the field 2 days ago are in status applied.
I haven’t selected any dependencies for the virtual layer but I think it should be OK without this.
It would be great to know if something can be implemented so that QFieldCloud can be asked to ignore virtual layers during synchronization.
QFieldCloud can’t synchronize virtual layers so there should be some way of asking QFieldCloud to ignore virtual layers during synchronization.
Our current workaround is to put virtual layers in a separate project but that’s a fairly messy workaround and potentially confusing for new people joining the project.
