We are currently deploying QField on managed devices using Microsoft Intune and have a question regarding the deployment of an authentication XML file required for access to a secured data service.
According to your documentation, the XML file needs to be placed in the QField application directory on the device (for example, Files > On My iPad > QField on iOS/iPadOS). [docs.qfield.org]
Our goal is to deploy this configuration centrally to multiple managed devices.
Could you please clarify the following:
- Does QField support Managed App Configuration (AppConfig) on iOS/iPadOS and/or Android Enterprise?
- Is there a supported way to deploy an authentication XML file through:
- Microsoft Intune
- Other MDM solutions
- Managed App Configuration
- Can QField automatically import an XML configuration file from a predefined location or URL?
- Is there an alternative supported method to configure authentication for secured data services without manually copying the XML file to each device?
- If Managed App Configuration is supported, do you have documentation, configuration keys, XML/plist examples, or an AppConfig schema available?
Our preference is a fully managed deployment without requiring end users to manually copy files on either iOS/iPadOS or Android devices.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
