Getting accurate height measurements in QField depends on having the right geoid grid file installed for your region. Actually getting that file onto your device is another story entirely.
Introducing our newest QField Plugin: FeelGood EasyGrid!
The plugin adds a menu to install vertical grid shift files without needing to transfer them to the device via cable.
Note that files can only be downloaded while a project is open, and QField must still be restarted for the file to be selectable.
The interface can be accessed in 3 ways:
- Plugin Settings
- Plugin Toolbar Button (can be disabled in the settings)
- A new option in the positioning settings (experimental, might break the settings view in some versions)
Until QField handles this natively, our plugin has you covered.
A tip of the hat to woupss and their GitHub Downloader plugin, which pointed me in the right direction for handling file downloads!
