QField 4.2.8 on Android 15 cannot get GPS location ("Waiting for location")

Hello,

I am having a problem with QField not receiving GPS location on Android.

Device:

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ 5G
  • Android 15

QField:

  • Version: 4.2.8 “Coral Sea”
  • Installed from Google Play

Problem:
QField always shows “Waiting for location” and never gets a position.

Tests already performed:

  • GPS works correctly in Google Maps and other GPS applications.
  • Tested outdoors with clear sky view.
  • QField has Location permission enabled.
  • Precise location permission is enabled.
  • The issue also happens with a new empty project, so it does not appear to be project-related.
  • Reinstalling QField did not resolve the issue.

Could anyone suggest what else I should check? Is there a known compatibility issue between QField?

@Ruslans_Ukrainecs , can you give QField 4.2.9 a try, a fix has been committed to address this.
