Geopdf nodata transparency

I have a watershed raster that is clipped to a mask outline. The nodata=0. When I export the map as geopdf the nodata areas (value 0) show up as white in qfield app on android. I have monkeyed around with transparency settings for nodata in QGIS and exported directly and through a print layout. Is there a way to get QField to make the areas that should be transparent transparent?

I switched to geotif, and it works as desired. Not exactly the solution I was looking for, but it is sufficient.
