Hello,
somewhere between Qfield 4.0.5 and QField 4.1.1 the pin used to remember attributes values when entering new data has disappeared. Can anyone help me if this was intended or just moved somewhere else?
Thanks a lot,
Felix

I experience the same. I have created an issue #7182.
Guys, regarding the remember attribute values ping, read this comment I dropped on a github issue that was briefly opened then closed yesterday: "Remember last value" pins don't show up in feature addition form · Issue #7169 · opengisch/QField · GitHub
Long story short, they are not gone, users have gained the ability to show/hide individual pins.
thanks for the explanation @Mathieu_Pellerin !
So preparing projects for QField should be done with QGIS 4 only ( and legacy projects prepared with older QGIS versions simply make the pin gone? )
That means a lot of manual work, going through all layers to regain the pin ![]()
Some kind of legacy handling would be appreciated! ![]()
@meyerlor , with projects pre 4.0, if you had the “ remember last value” option enabled on individual fields, QField will show the pin for these.
That’s rather unfortunate for those of us still running debian bookworm. QGIS states bookworm is not QGIS 4 ready
Trixie is not working well enough for me to transition so far
@fruit-github , I’ve tweaked the logic based on feedback here and if QField opens a project saved with QGIS < 4.0, it will show the remember value pins for all fields.
You can test the APK here: For projects saved with QGIS < 4.0, restore old always-on remember pin behavior by nirvn · Pull Request #7189 · opengisch/QField · GitHub
“Trixie is not working well enough” meant what? ![]()
Test appears OK, many thanks.
WRT trixie, QGIS and most else is fine but I am old and still use Usenet, I couldn’t get leafnode to work collecting articles. I think I need to adjust boot partitions too. I’m sure I’ll catch up soon
@Mathieu_Pellerin just wanted to say thanks for taking the feedback into account! Nice to have the pin back, and i’m looking forward to fine-tune it once QGIS 4 is production ready ![]()
